In last year's Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Amsterdam, The Funkids from Georgia placed second behind the Ukranian winner Anastasiya Petryk. This week both countries released some news about their upcoming national selections for the 2013 edition in Kyiv.

Last year's winning country of Ukraine has started their search for the young star to follow Anastasiya Petryk! 

The 2013 Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be hosted by NTU, the Ukrainian broadcaster. The contest will take place in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Anastasiya Petryk from Ukraine received a total of 138 points with her song Nebo (Sky). Last year's winner Georgia, with The Funkids, finished second with 103 points and Armenia's Compass Band finished third with 98 points.

Anastasiya  Petryk from Ukraine met the press shortly after winning the 2012 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. She was accompanied at the conference by the Ukrainian Head of Delegation, along with AVRO Press Officer Francois Engelhart. For much of the conference her elder sister Victoria joined her on stage.

After Israel and Russia it was time for Ukraine and Georgia. Of course, they were smashing :) That's because they brought the great vocals to the stage here at the HMH Arena.

Ukraine sends one of the youngest performers in this year's Junior Eurovision Song Contest. But that doesn't mean she has less experience or talent, as Anastasiya Petryk (10) has one of the strongest vocals in the competition.

Ukraine has made their pick and they've decided on the lucky ones going forward to the final of their selection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

It's time for the national selections to start - Ukraine is set to choose their participant for this year's Junior Eurovision Song Contest this week.

Kristall, who is the artist representing Ukraine in Yerevan, just finished her second and last individual rehearsal in Armenia. Once again she's full of energy and it can almost be felt through the cameras.

Kristall and her team was full of energy on stage today in Yerevan, giving a powerful performance matched by a great choreography.
