Broadcasters from 12 countries have signed up to participate in the 2011 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which shall take place in Yerevan on 3 December. The Steering Group, which met earlier this week at the EBU headquarters in Geneva, also decided upon several changes.

Weeks ago, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) announced that Armenian public broadcaster AMPTV would host the 2011 Junior Eurovision Song Contest on the 3rd of December in Yerevan. The broadcaster won the right to host the competition by bid. Over the weekend, EBU and AMPTV officials met for the so-called kick-off meeting, during which the newly appointed Host Broadcaster received in-depth information about the organisation of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
