The venue

The venue for the 2010 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, the Minsk Arena is one of the most modern ones in Europe. So, it's a perfect place for our young stars!

Minsk Arena is a multi-sports, roofed arena and a tourist attraction in Minsk. Minsk Arena, opened just a year ago, is unique not only in Belarus but also in Europe.

That is why the arena was chosen the main venue for the 2010 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. It includes a central hockey arena, a skating stadium and a velodrome.

Facts:

  • Arena’s holds up to 15,000 spectators, which is more than the population of some European towns! Minsk Arena is third largest arena in Europe.
  • The building of Minsk Arena has 54 cloakrooms. It means that 15,000 people can take their clothes and leave the Arena in 40 minutes after an event!
  • More than 500 cameras are in the building, monitoring everything in and outside the Arena.
  • There are 61 kilometer of wires and cables in the Arena. All this is used for maintenance of it. That’s the distance between Minsk airport and the city centre and back!
  • There are 36 men’s and 12 ladies’ rooms for spectators.
  • It has it’s own fire department
  • World-class stars who have already performed in the Arena include Rammstein, Scorpions and Elton John. So, it’s a perfect place for young stars all over Europe too!
