Citizens of each participating country vote by telephone and SMS, which counts for 50%. Each country's 10 favourites are awarded 1 to 8, 10 and 12 points based on the number of vote. A jury in each country also has a 50% say in the outcome.
About this contest
The 2010 Junior Eurovision Song Contest was held in the capital of Belarus, Minsk. The two-time Junior Eurovision Song Contest winning nation had their chance to show the whole of Europe what family entertainment is all about.
Participants from 14 countries participated. Moldova was represented for the first time, Lithuanian broadcaster LRT, Latvian broadcaster LTV and Swedish broadcaster SVT returned.
The Minsk Arena is one of the most modern arenas in Europe and was thus a great place to host the 8th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest on the 20th of November at 20:15 Central European Time.
The Belarusian public broadcaster BTRC hosted a spectacular show which was won finally by the Armenian representative Vladimir Arzumanyan with Mama.
