The venue

The Kyiv Palace of Sports will host the seventh Junior Eurovision Song Contest on the 21st of November 2009. It's situated in the center of Kyiv and can have an audience of over 6,000 people.

The Kyiv Palace of Sports is situated in the center of Kyiv, Ukraine on the right bank of the Dnieper river.

It was built in 1960 as a major indoor sports arena. It was also a venue for large concerts with bands such as Deep Purple, A-Ha, Jamiroquai, Moby, Muse and singers such as Christina Aguilera and Lenny Kravitz. In 2005 it even hosted the Eurovision Song Contest!
