Behind the scenes: Filming the postcards for 2017

GBP

There are less than 100 days to go until the 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The official postcards, shown between each national entry, are currently being filmed by Host Broadcaster GBP. We went behind the scenes to find out more!

Georgian director Zaza Orashvili and his crew will shoot 16 videos in different regions of Georgia to introduce the country, its people and wide cultural diversity to the European audience. "The specific aim of these postcards is to show the viewer at home the beauty and the treasures of Georgia," Zaza said.

The postcards depict a Georgian person travelling to a destination where they meet another character, collecting a Georgian artefact to give to the participating contestants coming to celebrate music from all over Europe.

The first phase of the production has been completed successfully in the Imereti and Adjara regions of Georgia. The crew are now working in Svaneti. Famous Georgians with other citizens will participate in the videos which will also feature Mariam Mamadashvili  the winner of Junior Eurovision 2016. The singer will also participate in the live final of Junior Eurovision on 26th November 2017.
