Animated broadcast logo presented at Junior 2012

Animated broadcast logo presented at Junior 2012
This is the new EUROVISION logo, not to be confused by the Junior or the Eurovision Song Contest!
Geneva, Switzerland -

We already know tomorrow's Junior Eurovision Song Contest is going to be a great event. But to make this even more exciting, it will also be the place where the new animated EUROVISION broadcast logo is presented.

We're all used to the EBU vignette that starts among others, the Junior Eurovision Song Contest as well as the Eurovision Song Contest version of it. You know the clip that always gives everyone the chills and you just know one of the biggest nights of the year is going to start in just a bit? Of course you do.

This year it'll be a bit different. Namely, all European Broadcasting Union (EBU) co-productions are now under the EUROVISION brand.

No changes to the song contest logos

But you should not worry - there are no changes to the Eurovision Song Contest nor the Junior Eurovision Song Contest logos.

However, what this means is the vignette will be new and you'll be able to see it tomorrow night as well as in our video below. It is the latest element to be unveiled from the EBU EUROVISION corporate identity project launched in autumn 2012.

The pulsing circle is central to the organisation's visual identity, with strong links to previous logos. It reflects EUROVISION's modern outward look and its ability to unite audiences in a unique, international broadcast experience.

Avril Mahon Roberts, Head of Corporate Identity said the Junior Eurovision Song Contest is the ideal platform for the launch: "The event represents the true spirit of EUROVISION, bringing European audiences together to share fun, family entertainment. It's appropriate it should be the first programme to carry the logo. "

So, tune in for the contest tomorrow and get two things at once - an amazing night at the world's best song contest for young stars as well as the new broadcast logo!

I'd rather have the previous version, with the black and coloured waves version.. heck the original icon you had back in 2006 is far more artistic than the latest version. report to the moderator

I find the new logo very sterile, overly simple. Something you might see on a piece of hospital equipment. Doesn't really express creativity, more like conformity. Yes?

I agree with BlueRush that it is difficult to look at. Almost like you have to keep staring at it just to read it. Sorta defeats the purpose of 'vision' unless your referring to blurred vision.

I know change is hard but apparently they feel a need to change EVERYTHING about the contest. Wouldn't be surprised if they just completely do away with the polling at the end of the show and just announce the winner, you know, to save time. report to the moderator

The only thing that bothers me is that the "O", including the pulse waves/brackets either side of it is not symmetrical. It's difficult to look at. report to the moderator

I find it kind of weird because it looks too ''modern'' and the music accompanying it is classical...But I prefer the old one,to be honest. report to the moderator

wohdin, It's going to be the new generic broadcast logo. Both current logos for ESC and JESC remain unaffected. report to the moderator

So to clarify: will this new logo be REPLACING the CURRENT logo, that uses the heart filled in with the host country's flag? Or will it simply be the "generic" splash animation used for broadcasts (playing immediately before/after the shows)? report to the moderator
