EBU 'confident' in Junior Eurovision future

Today the Host Broadcaster of the 2011 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, AMPTV, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and World Vision gave a joint press conference.

All parties were happy have a great co-operation with each other as well as EBU member broadcasters.

"It's been a create pleasure working with you the past year," Sietse Bakker, the Supervisor of the contest on behalf of the EBU stated, referring to AMPTV. "The rehearsals have gone very smoothly."

"We would like to thank the EBU and EBU members for all the help and support" - Levon Simonyan, the Executive Producer of the Show commented.

"We're looking forward to a good show," Gohar Gasparyan, Head of Delegations and one of the hosts of the Show added.

"We like the topic and the theme of the event - to help children raise to the top," World Vision representative explained their decision their choice to be a part of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest this year.

By the way, you can help World Vision to raise funds by voting on Saturday during the live show.

What about 2012?

"We want this competition to continue," Bakker said. "It's a great opportunity to showcase talent and we believe in it."

"We had a great co-operation with the Dutch broadcaster AVRO and the Steering Group decided to let them organise next year's contest. It creates confidence for the future of the contest," he explained.

According to him, the Host City of 2012 will most likely be announced early next year.

Another change for the upcoming editions is that EBU is trying to find a way to make it more 'affordable' to host the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
