Just as the Head of Delegations meeting started in Yerevan, it was announced the Dutch broadcaster AVRO has won the bid to host the next edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

Today, the traditional meeting of all delegations set to arrive for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest started. As one of the first news, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) announced the Dutch broadcaster AVRO had won the right to host next year's event.

Even though the exact date and the Host City will be announced at a later time, the vision for the upcoming contest has already been set.

"We aim for more participants but a more intimate event in 2012," said Sietse Bakker, Supervisor of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of the EBU. "We are sure they'll organise a show at a wonderful level."

AVRO has already hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest back in 2007 when it was held in the city of Rotterdam.

This year the Junior Eurovision Song Contest Host Broadcaster is the Armenian broadcaster AMPTV which was picked by the EBU Steering Group during a bidding process.
