In last year's Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Amsterdam, The Funkids from Georgia placed second behind the Ukranian winner Anastasiya Petryk. This week both countries released some news about their upcoming national selections for the 2013 edition in Kyiv.

It's been a fun afternoon at the big stage of the Gröna Lund amusement park in Stockholm, the place where the 2013 Lilla Melodifestivalen has taken place and where Elias has been selected as the Swedish artist for the Junior Eurovision!

Some hours after the International Children's Day it was time for Russia to pick their contestant for this year's Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Out of 18 eager young stars, it was Dayana Kirillova (11) who took home the ticket to Kyiv!

Our wonderful stars from Junior Eurovision 2012 in Amsterdam have a special message to their participants in the big Eurovision Song Contest. 

The arena for this year's Junior Eurovision Song Contest is now decided! It'll be held in the National Palace of Arts Ukraina.

Last year's winning country of Ukraine has started their search for the young star to follow Anastasiya Petryk! 

Today, we can confirm the date for the 2013 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv - it'll be held on the 30th of November in Kyiv, Ukraine.

The 2013 Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be hosted by NTU, the Ukrainian broadcaster. The contest will take place in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Anastasiya Petryk from Ukraine received a total of 138 points with her song Nebo (Sky). Last year's winner Georgia, with The Funkids, finished second with 103 points and Armenia's Compass Band finished third with 98 points.
